EdTech and Learning Products

Design learning products around learner goals, practice, evidence, feedback, educator work and accessible participation.

Different learning products organise different relationships

Course completion, a streak or time spent can show activity without showing whether a learner can do something differently. A credible learning product connects an objective to practice, evidence, feedback and the next challenge, while giving educators or coaches enough context to support the person rather than only monitor a dashboard.

Tcules designs learner and educator experiences, content structure, participation, AI-assisted support, design systems and software implementation according to the product condition.

  1. 01

    Course and content platforms

    Connect curriculum, sequence, media, assessment and completion.

  2. 02

    Practice and coaching products

    Connect attempts, observation, feedback and repeated performance.

  3. 03

    Workplace learning

    Connect role, competency, evidence, policy and operating context.

  4. 04

    Creator and cohort products

    Connect teaching material, live participation, community and facilitation.

  5. 05

    Learning administration

    Connect enrolment, access, scheduling, progress, certification and support.

  6. 06

    AI tutors and feedback products

    Connect learner intent, model guidance, evidence, boundaries and educator oversight.

Learning is a feedback loop, not a content funnel

  1. 01

    Learning objective

    The objective determines the practice and evidence required.

  2. 02

    Activity or practice task

    The learner works through a task designed to produce meaningful evidence.

  3. 03

    Attempt and evidence

    An attempt produces evidence rather than progress by itself.

  4. 04

    Feedback and support

    Feedback interprets the evidence against the objective, and support or adaptation changes the learner's next attempt.

  5. 05

    Progress decision and next challenge

    A progress decision selects the next challenge or additional practice.

Orientation and participation need a product structure

In The Wandering Raven case, Tcules worked across research, information architecture, visual identity and Moodle implementation for a creative-writing experience. Content, navigation and participation were treated as one journey, and the product direction continued into plugins, configuration and custom theming.

The case establishes design and implementation responsibility. It does not establish learning efficacy, increased engagement, accessibility conformance or safeguarding practice.

Educator work is part of the learner experience

An educator or coach may need to:

  • see who requires intervention without reducing a learner to one score;
  • compare attempts against a transparent criterion;
  • give feedback connected to evidence;
  • adapt sequence or support;
  • distinguish incomplete activity from demonstrated difficulty;
  • understand what an AI tutor or recommendation changed;
  • communicate progress without overstating it.

Dense cohort views may be appropriate on desktop. On smaller screens, the product should prioritise one learner, objective and intervention record rather than compress a desktop grid beyond use.

AI can support practice without owning learning judgement

AI can explain, generate examples, adapt practice, summarise evidence and prepare feedback. It can also give confident guidance beyond the course material or create a shortcut around the practice needed for learning.

Tcules defines the model role, source, age-appropriate boundary, feedback state, educator visibility, correction and evaluation. A generated answer should not become evidence that the learner understands. For products serving minors, privacy, consent, safeguarding and authority require explicit owner review.

The CAST Universal Design for Learning Guidelines (opens in a new tab) offer one authoritative framework for designing multiple ways to engage with and act on learning. WCAG 2.2 (opens in a new tab) remains relevant to web accessibility. Referencing either does not establish product conformance.

How the work comes together

Tcules can combine learner and educator research, learning-object and content modelling, information architecture, practice and feedback workflows, responsive and accessible interaction, AI Product UX, design systems and Moodle or custom software delivery.

The wider learning portfolio includes JoVE and CricMax. The Wandering Raven carries the detailed public example because its design and Moodle implementation responsibilities can be described directly.

Bring one learning objective, the activity intended to support it and the evidence currently used to decide progress. That is enough to locate the product work.
